WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder will lend a hand to the community, hosting “City of Chapman, Tornado Relief Night”, on Saturday, November 22nd.Red Wing Shoe Store has partnered with the Thunder to provide tickets to all Chapman area residents as they host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05 PM.On the night of Wednesday, June 11th 2008, a devastating tornado ripped through the City of Chapman in north-central Kansas causing millions of dollars worth of damage.  The rebuilding process continues with each day, and ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover is in Chapman this week to feature the rebuilding of one of the town’s many destructed homes.The Thunder will be doing a “Pass the Boot for Chapman” campaign during the second period on the 22nd.  Extra large Red Wing boots will be passed around to thousands of fans in order to raise funds for the Chapman school district.USD 473 had an estimated $45 million ... Thunder Split Weekend TripThis past weekend, the Wichita Thunder went 1-1 in their longest road trip of the season in terms of distance.  The Thunder traveled 778 miles to Laredo on Friday night, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Bucks.  Wichita took a 1-0 lead on Jordan Hack’s third goal of the season at 13:34 in the first period.  The Thunder carried the lead into the third, thanks in large part to the work of the penalty kill unit, which held off the Bucks for 1:26 on a ... Thunder Snap Skid in Shootout

Bucks Rally Past Thunder

LAREDO, TX- The Wichita Thunder fell 2-1 to the Laredo Bucks on Friday night at the Laredo Events Center.Jordan Hack gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead with his third goal of the season coming at the 13:34 mark in the first period.  Wichita carried the lead through the second thanks to the work of the Thunder penalty kill unit.  Wichita killed off 1:26 of a five on three Bucks' power play late in the second to stay ahead 1-0 after two periods.Bobby Russell tied it for Laredo at 5:12 in the ...
