Wichita, KS- The Wichita Thunder announced today that they have re-signed forwards Matt Robinson and Aaron Davis, as well as defenseman Daniel Tetrault.
Robinson, a 2011 CHL All-Star, joined the Thunder in a November trade with the Laredo Bucks last season and quickly became Wichita’s best all-around player. Robinson compiled 66 points in 57 games with the Thunder, including a team-high 39 goals. Robinson notched a four-goal game on December 14 vs. Tulsa and had a hat trick in the 2011 CHL All-Star Game in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Davis also returns for a second season, following a career-best 2010-11 campaign with the Thunder. Davis played in all 66 games last season, compiling career-highs for goals (26) and points (72). Davis also led the Thunder with four shorthanded goals and seven game-winners.
Team Captain Tetrault returns for a second consecutive season and his fifth overall in a Thunder uniform. In 59 games Tetrault scored eight goals and 27 points, and led all Thunder scorers with three playoff goals. Tetrault currently ranks second all-time among Thunder defensemen with 155 points, 14 shy of Sean O’Reilly’s team record.
The Thunder will begin play in their 20th season in the CHL starting this October and today unveiled their 20th Anniversary logo to the public.
