WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder today added forward Tyler Dittmer to their roster.
Dittmer joins the Thunder from the Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings, where he notched 60 goals and 141 points in 217 games and was a member of the 2007 WHL Champions. Dittmer had his best season in 2007-08, picking up 58 points and led the team with 32 goals.
Dittmer will arrive in Wichita later today. The Thunder also announced that forward Troy Okufany and goaltender Ryan Dutton have joined the team after attending training camp with the AHL’s Quad City Flames. Both players will be on the ice for practice this afternoon.
The Thunder will host the Tulsa Oilers tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. at the Wichita Ice Center. All seats for the game will be general admission and are $10 each. The Thunder will donate a portion of the proceeds to the family of former Tulsa defenseman Rob Guinn, who was killed in a traffic accident this past August.
The Thunder will also play a pair of exhibition games at the defending CHL Champion Arizona Sundogs on Friday and Saturday. Face-off on both nights at the Tim’s Toyota Center will be 9:05 p.m. Central Time.
The Thunder will open their 17th CHL season on Friday, October 17th at the Mississippi RiverKings and then host the Oklahoma City Blazers on Saturday, October 18th at the Kansas Coliseum.
