WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder announced two more player signings on Friday, returning left wing Scott Rozendal and signing veteran center Glenn Detulleo.
Detulleo (pronounced duh-TOOL-ee-oh) is entering his seventh season of professional hockey. The Timmins, Ontario native has scored more points than games played in each of his last two seasons, playing for the IHL's Kalamazoo Wings. Detulleo scored a career-high 26 goals as well as 55 assists in just 70 games last season. The year before, he scored 17 goals and set a career-high with 56 assists in 72 contests. For his career, Detulleo has scored 347 points in 522 games played. After beginning his career overseas in Germany, Detulleo has spent the last five seasons in the UHL/IHL.
Rozendal scored 14 goals and 15 assists in 2008-09, returning to the Thunder after spending the previous season in France. In three years with the Thunder, Rozendal has scored 78 points and racked up 262 penalty minutes in 147 games. The native of Listowel, Ontario has played as high as the ECHL level, appearing in 13 games for the Fresno Falcons in 2005-06. Though he finished the season on the IR, Rozendal was honored by the Thunder prior to their final home game with the team's award for outstanding community service.
The Thunder opens the 2009-10 season on October 16th on the road. Wichita plays its home opener the following night at the Kansas Coliseum and will move from the Kansas Coliseum to the new Intrust Bank Arena downtown in mid-January.
