Wichita is 1-0-0-0 vs. Kansas City

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the second meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Mavericks. All-time, Wichita is 43-40-8 against Kansas City and 19-20-74 against the Mavs on the road in the series. 

IMPACT - Greg Chase was assigned to the Thunder from the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors last week and made an immediate impact. He had assists in both games against Allen and then recorded a pair of goals on Sunday, including the overtime winner. A native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Chase has four points (2g, 2a) in three games for the Thunder.

EASY MAC - Mark MacMillan finished the week with three points, recording a goal on Friday and two helpers on Sunday. He has three multi-point outings so far this season and eight points (5g, 3a) in nine games.

QUICK START - Wichita has started games on the right note so far this season. The Thunder have outscored their opponents 15-5 in the first and leads the league in first-period goals. The Thunder have also outscored their opponents 13-6 in the second period this year.

CALLED UP - Kyle Platzer was called up to the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday. The Waterloo, Ontario native leads the team in scoring with 14 points and is a +9. Platzer heads to the Condors due to some movement within the affiliation. Forward Brad Malone was called up to the Edmonton Oilers after forward and first round draft pick Kailer Yamamoto was sent back to his junior team in Spokane (WHL). 

SPECIAL - Wichita has killed off 24 of the last 25 power play attempts from its opponent and moved to 10th in the league on the penalty kill (86.8%). The Thunder scored their second shorthanded goal of the season on Sunday and also added a power play tally. Wichita's power play currently sits at 15.6%, good for 14th in the league.

SOFIE - Istvan Sofron has points in three straight games (1g, 4a) and recorded his first of the season on Sunday off a face-off win from Travis Ewanyk.
